Katie Oldham, MA, LCPC (she/her)
Therapist and Practice Owner
Katie is a Chicagoland native and the first of her family to complete higher education.
Katie completed her undergraduate degree at Benedictine University in Lisle, IL and continued on to complete her masters degree at Roosevelt University in Chicago, IL. Katie entered the helping profession in 2015 providing ABA therapy for kiddos with ASD. From there, she transitioned to residential treatment for individuals with eating disorders. After finishing the first two years of graduate school, Katie started her practicum at an intensive outpatient (IOP) facility in Schaumburg, IL. Here, she gained experience facilitating group therapy, family therapy, and individual therapy. After leaving the IOP setting, Katie transitioned to private practice, where she started to fine-tune the populations she works with.
Katie primarily works with teens through 30-somethings. The majority of her clients are experiencing difficulty with life transitions, managing emotions, identity exploration, and self-esteem.
Katie utilizes CBT as her primary treatment modality, though likes therapy to be a collaborative experience. Because of this, she will likely implement other modalities, such as DBT, feministic, existential, and ACT.
How Katie keeps herself balanced: weight-lifting, watching Sopranos, baking a sweet treat, and hanging out with her dog, Harvey.
